I have been traveling to China now for more than 30 years and though Beijing is growing and changing in leaps and bounds, look beyond the modern landscape to discover over 800 years of history before your very own eyes. There are the essential stops for every visitor to the Capital of China, which I note below, but give yourself time to stroll some of the old Hutong neighborhoods or just sit in one of the Temple of Heaven corridors in amazement at people doing what they do best in life - LIVE. The energy is contagious and you just might find yourself doing water calligraphy, dancing or singing to your heart's content. It is a magical place and all too often overlooked as it is generally at the end of a visit to the Temple of Heaven. Just stop and take a break and enjoy the moment!
